InkFonts is free to use, with no account and no usage limit. Using the site means accepting what is set out below.

The fonts

Every typeface here is published by its author under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits personal and commercial use — including tattoos, merchandise and client work. What that licence does not permit is selling the font files themselves. You are free to sell what you make with them; you may not sell the fonts. Each family and its author are listed on the font licences page.

The copy-and-paste styles are not fonts at all. They are Unicode characters, which are part of a public standard and carry no licence conditions.

Your text is yours

Whatever you type stays in your browser and is never sent to us, so we claim no rights over it and could not use it if we wanted to. You are responsible for having the right to use the words and names you set, and for anything you make with the files you export.

What is not guaranteed

The tools are provided as they are, with no warranty. Two limits are worth stating plainly because they affect physical work. Printed output is only true to size if your printer does not rescale the page — the printable sheet carries a 100 mm ruler for exactly this reason, and you should measure it before cutting or tattooing. And the Chinese character library sets characters without translating them: verify meaning and form with a native speaker before committing anything permanent.

We are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including work produced from an export that turned out to be the wrong size, mirrored the wrong way, or carried a meaning you did not intend. Check your proof before it reaches skin, vinyl or paper.

Availability and changes

The site may change or become unavailable without notice, and these terms may be updated. Continuing to use InkFonts after a change means accepting the revised terms.
